Sometimes i like to go to places and just take my camera along, but i knew it was a must when we got the invitation to come to the Mad Hatter Party benefiting the Friends of Ballard Park this past Monday.
The park is stunning as it's natural hills, trails, and massive rock formations create a virtual wonderland for kids so how appropriate that it was transformed into a child's confection imitating the tea party in the woods from Lewis Carols Alice and Wonderland.
I'll let some of the photographs speak for themselves but my MAD HATS are off to whoever came up with the concept, and delivered such a wonderful experience to parents and children alike.
The money raised will be used to help preserve and protect the thirteen acres that were donated by Carol C. Ballard in 1990 as an outdoor laboratory for students and a place where the local public could connect with nature.
Check out their site http://www.ballardpark.org/08_friends.html for ongoing activities including film screenings , yoga in the park, Zumba classes, Movies On the Rocks, and the Ballard Park Pumpkin Tour where kids can see over 1,000 jack-o-lanturns on display.
